Dr Stuart Thorne is a member of the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists and has undertaken specialised training in Equine Acupuncture.
Acupuncture can be used on its own, although we tend to use it to complement conventional veterinary treatment. It is particularly useful in the relief of musculoskeletal disorders especially chronic pain. In the horse it is particularly good for the treatment of any type of muscle soreness especially of the neck, shoulders, back and hindquarters. Horses with arthritis and sacroiliac pain also benefit from treatment.
