Veterinary staff

Our practice comprises 4 full time and 2 part time veterinary surgeons who are assisted by seven support staff and one student Nurse. 

Our team of experts are always on hand to help with any problems you may encounter.

Mr Bill Wooton
Qualifications: BVMS MRCVS and Practice Principal
Full Time veterinary Surgeon
Bill graduated in 1975 and joined the clinic when it was located in South Street and known as Lowe and Watterson.  Soon after he became a partner with Mr Watterson and the clinic name changed to Watterson and Wooton.  In 1989 the South Street practice was demolished to make way for the multi-story car park and the practice moved to its current site on North Street and became Kingdom Veterinary Clinic.  Bill is now the Practice Principal. He has an interest in "exotic pets" such as reptiles and is qualified in Acupuncture.

Miss Michelle Balbirnie
Qualifications: BVMS(Hons) MRCVS
Full Time veterinary Surgeon
Michelle is the newest member of our team having just joined in November 2011.  She previously worked in a mixed practice in Norfolk.  She graduated in 2008 and lives with her two cats Ollie and Puck. 

Miss Laura Boulton
Qualifications: BVSc MRCVS
Full Time veterinary Surgeon
Laura joined the practice in August 2011.  She is originally from Cheshire and graduated from Bristol University in June 2011. She now lives in Leslie with her Fiancé Rob. Laura particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery.

Mrs Diane Watson
Qualifications: BVM&S MRCVS
Part Time veterinary Surgeon
Diane graduated in 1998 and has worked for the practice since then. She has worked part time since returning from maternity leave. She lives locally with her husband and two children as well as cats Jorg and Briggs.  Diane currently works Saturdays but has plans to increase her hours soon.  Watch this space!

Mrs Andrea Drummond
Qualifications: BVM&S MRCVS
Part Time veterinary Surgeon
Andrea graduated in 2001 and has worked for the practice since then. She currently works part time. Andrea lives locally with her Husband and two children (soon to be three!) who share their home with feisty Border Terrier Oz.  Andrea currently works Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Mrs Hilsa Doyle
Qualifications: RVN
Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hilsa joined the practice as an evening receptionist/nurse in 1990.  In 1996 she became a full time Nurse.  Having trained as a 'human' nurse prior to having her family she eventually re-trained and is now a qualified RVN.  Hilsa currently lives with her Husband and cat Jason.

Miss Marisa Jarman
Qualifications: BSc Hons Veterinary Nursing
Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse
Marisa joined the practice in September 2011 having moved from Paisley.  She trained with College of Animal Welfare in Middlesex and graduated in July 2007 with a BSc Honors in Veterinary Nursing.  Marisa is also our Clinical Coach and undertakes the training of any student nurses we have on placement within the clinic.  Marisa now lives in Fife with her Fiancé Michael and their cat Holly.

Mrs Sharon Wilson
Qualifications: HNC Animal Care
Full Time Student Animal Nursing Assistant
Sharon has worked in the practice since March 2008.  She already held an HNC in Animal Care from Elmwood College.  Sharon is our qualified first aid officer, completes all insurance claims and deals with most of our accounts.  Sharon is currently working towards the Animal Nursing Assistant qualification and lives in Fife with her Husband, Jack Russell Terrier Luna, ferrets Trigger, Albert and Denzil and chinchillas Isla and Skye.

Miss Amie Gourlay
Qualifications: HND Animal Care
Full Time Student Animal Nursing Assistant
Amie has worked in the practice since January 2009. She already held an HND in Animal Care from Elmwood College. Like Sharon, Amie is also working towards the Animal Nursing Assistant qualification and lives in Kinross with her Fiancé Chris and their cat Belle.  Amie also looks after Godfrey our practice gerbil!

Miss Nikki Kirk
Full Time Receptionist/Nurse
Nikki started at the practice in June 2010 and comes from a background in Hotel Management.  Having worked in hotels since 2001 Nikki left the industry in 2010 to pursue a career which involved her love of animals.  Currently, Nikki is working towards a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Psychology.  She lives in Dunfermline with her partner Martin, cats Jaz, Guinness, Tia and Maddie and Staffie Cross Mak.

Miss Ashley Doyle
Qualifications: 1st Class BSc Hons Fashion Technology
Full Time Receptionist/Nurse
Ashley joined the practice in September 2010 after graduating from Heriot Watt University in June 2010.  Although studying to become a fashion technologist Ashley has had a lifelong interest in the veterinary profession and has always gravitated back to working with animals.  Eventually she would like to study to become a qualified Animal Physiotherapist.  Ashley lives locally with her flat mate and cats Ozzy and Sushi.

Mrs Cathy MacIntosh
Qualifications: MLC Hom, Dip Vib Med
Full Time Book-keeper
Cathy joined the practice in October 1979 and has been with us ever since.  She is a qualified Human Homeopath and can also practice Vibrational Medicine.  Although Cathy is not practicing at the moment she hopes to do so in the future.  She currently lives with her Husband and cats Percy, Joseph (Joe) and Liesbeth-Grace (Peg).

Miss Gemma Nowrie
Qualifications: Working Towards Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
Student Nurse
Gemma first came to the clinic in Summer 2009 to gain experience before applying to The College of Animal Welfare to study Veterinary Nursing.  Since then she has been accepted and is now in the final year of her course.  Gemma has been working in the practice on and off for the past 2 years as part of her placements.  She will be leaving us in February to return full-time to college but will be back in April to continue her practical studies within the clinic.  Gemma lives locally with her Mother, Sister and their Golden Retriever Marley.
