Chris qualified the same year as Ian at Liverpool in 1987. He became a partner in 1993 and takes a keen interest in both large and small animal work. He has a special interest in orthopaedics.
Out of work he does a lot of hill walking with his dogs, photography & listening to live music.

 Ian Elkington BVSc MRCVS

Ian, who qualified from Liverpool in 1987 is a native of Ashbourne and joined us from a practice in Yorkshire.
His interests lie in the management and routine testing of cattle for DEFRA in the fight against bovine tuberculosis.
In his spare time Ian is a member of an unbeatable pub quiz team and also an avid Rams supporter.

Stephen Clancy MVB MRCVS

Stephen qualified from Dublin in 1998 and has worked in both small and large animal practices in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand before joining the Moorland Veterinary Centre. He is mainly involved with the farm work including dairy cow nutrition and fertility.
Out of work he enjoys walking his dogs in the Peak district and spending time with his children.

 Rebekka Clancy MVB MRCVS

Rebekka qualified from Dublin in 2000 and has worked in small and large animal practice in the UK and abroad. Her main interests are small animal medicine and surgery, ultrasound scanning as well as building and maintaining this web site!
She has two Newfoundland dogs and likes walking them and has water trained one to pull in boats and rescue people.

 Pete Sloan BVSc,MRCVS

Pete qualified from London in 2009 and started working at the Moorland Veterinary Centre straight away. He covers large and small animals, as well as horses. He has a special interest in small animal surgery.
Pete got married last year and spent a few months traveling and is rejoining us now.
In his spare time he likes hill-walking, hiking and mountain biking.

 Helen Thompson BVSc, MRCVS

Helen qualified from Liverpool in 2006 and has worked in mixed practices in the UK and abroad. She enjoys a good mix of all species on a daily basis, small animals, cattle as well as horses.
After work, Helen likes rock climbing, especially in the Peak district area and mountain biking. She has just re homed a kitten which is bossing her two dogs around!

 Joe Falder BVSc MRCVS

Joe qualified from London in 2008. He started working in a large dairy practice before joining the Moorland Veterinary Centre.
He has a keen interest in all species but his special interests lie in large animal medicine and surgery.
Joe has got one dog, a terrier called Brian. He also is interested in rugby and used to play as prop.

 Ciaran Gobl, MVB MRCVS
Assistant, joined 2011

Ciaran qualified from Dublin in 2007. He worked in Nepal with a veterinary charity and completed an equine internship in Australia prior to joining us.
His daily work comprises all species but he has a special interest in equine cases.
Ciaran plays the piano, enjoys music and has two cats as well as a Staffie named Sue.

 

 Roger Westhead BVSc MRCVS
Assistant, joined 1984

Roger joined while the practice was still E.J.Hodgkinson and partners, but already at its present site. Roger has retired from the clinical side of veterinary work but helps Ian with bovine tuberculosis testing.
He is a keen long distance runner and enjoys time on his narrow boat and performing with a local jazz band.
